The backstory
For me, sustainability is at the heart of everything. A daily consideration. It’s about much more than work. It’s about life.
We run an organic family farm on the edge of the Black Mountains in Wales. We produce award-winning, purely pasture-fed lamb and mutton in a sustainable way. The soil is everything, we don't use any fertilisers or weed killers, and it works. Our soil carbon has been calculated and we are carbon positive – a carbon sink.
Our latest step is a regenerative agriculture project, planting trees in the pasture, several metres apart, to increase water, soil and sheep health. We plant trees without taking land out of production.
Sustainability is a part of who I am, at work and at home.
We can all always do better. Together we can find solutions.
